弘明寺はオフィスから歩いていける距離にあります。横浜市内最古の寺として知られる高野山真言宗の「瑞應山 蓮華院 弘明寺(ぐみょうじ)」。およそ1300年もの歴史あるお寺だそうです。お寺の言い伝えによると奈良時代の721(養老5)年に善無畏(ぜんむい)三蔵というインドのお坊さんがこの土地を訪れ、山にたなびく紫の雲を見て「後々ここは仏教の聖地になるであろう」と七ツ石(ななついし)と呼ばれる結界石を置いたのがはじまりとされています。山門には、横浜市の有形文化財に指定されている、鎌倉時代に作られた「阿吽」仁王様があります。
Gumyo-ji Temple is within walking distance from the office.It is the oldest temple in Yokohama city and is a temple of Koyasan Shingon sect. The oldest temple in Yokohama with a history of about 1300 years.According to the legend of the temple, an Indian monk named Sanzou visited this land in 721 during the Nara period.He saw the purple clouds fluttering in the mountains and predicted, "This will become a Buddhist sanctuary later." It is said that he placed a sacred stone called seven stones (Nanatsuishi). At the gate, there is a statue of "Ahun" Niou, which is designated as a tangible cultural property of Yokohama City. It was made in the Kamakura period.
